A Pressure Relief Valve (Safety Relief Valve) functions as a safety device to protect a pump system from excessive build up of pressure by venting excess pressure exceeding a pre-determined limit. This prevents system damage, rupture, or other hazardous situations. Designed to open automatically at a set pressure and discharge fluid until the pressure drops back to an acceptable level.
How to Set Pressure? (1)The topcap (used to protect the adjustment screw) removed and place aside, (2)Adjust the screw counter-clockwise, i.e tightening until the valve totally closed: untill the point no more turning, (3)Then start running the pump system with the water/chemical, you’ll see the pressure increase from the Pressure Gauge, say you want the system pressure set to 6Bar then you may start adjusting the valve screw clockwise, (4)When you see the pressure drop from the Pressure Gauge, you’ve to stop immediately the adjustment, there & then that is the pressure of the PRV has been set at 6Bar.
